Just pulled off a pretty big goal. Serving a 7 course Christmas Feast for a few friends. We get together every year for a big dinner and this was something I had always wanted to try. I didn't get photos of all the courses but one of the guests did. So as soon as I get them I will post those as well. What a great time we had and what fun planning it all out.

First Course - Roasted Shrimp Cocktail

Decided to play around with an idea I have been wanting to do. Creating journals! I love journals! I must have a ton of them. I love beautiful covers and I see the fresh empty pages waiting to be filled with thoughts, lists, ideas, anything I feel like writing. This one I am calling a Blessings Journal so I  can write down each day the blessings that come my way. And of course it's in my favorite color of purple! I may make more and might add them to the Mizz Kim's Creations line. Still toying with that one....

We had a wonderful time for my Mother's Birthday at Cottage Treasures Tea Room. My sister, niece, and friend of my sister's were all in attendance. Such fun!!!

Another wonderful tea party with my dear friends Pastor Tamlyn, Janie and my beautiful mom! We enjoyed homemade blueberry scones,egg and bacon cups, and of course tea! The best part was the laughter and watching the birds. The weather stayed nice and mild for us as well. Thank you God for such wonderful friends and times like these!

Lovely day today. Tea party with my dear friend Janie out in the new "cabana". Chicken salad croissants, home made blueberry scones with lemon glaze and mini cheesecakes and rose petal tea. The best part was the conversation and time spent together. There's nothing to compare to great friends. She's a  special lady for sure!!

             Today I am celebrating 8 wonderful years with the love of my life.

What a difference a week makes! As I read back over my last post and reflect on what a wonderful day Easter Sunday was, it's hard to believe just a few days later our worlds would be turned up side down by a tornado! Growing up in my small town we had threats of tornadoes  and bad thunderstorms, but we were always spared.
Wednesday night was a life altering evening when an EF4 tornado ripped through our town tearing up anything in its path. Hotels, fast food restaurants were its first victims. Then it moved into the town itself and tore up so many small businesses. Businesses that had been around since I was a little girl. Then it took a turn and headed toward one of our most treasured areas: Our High School and Middle School. Sorrow fills my heart when I think of what has been lost. Buildings can be built back - the loss of life can never be replaced. At last count we had lost 11 precious lives to this vicious storm. Two of which were high school students.

We are mighty for a small town and the generosity of people in this area is overwhelming! People have been giving of their time, their resources and so much love and prayer for our community. We will survive this tragedy, but only with the help of our precious Lord and Savior. Any of you who may be reading this, please keep our little town of Ringgold and its people in your prayers and hearts.

Another beautiful day today after a lot of rain. "April showers bring May Flowers" so they say. I hope so anyway!!!

I had the wonderful privilege of portraying both of these women in different theatre productions. They both are a constant inspiration for me and seeing this footage just solidifies that even more. Hope you are inspired today!

The sun is shining. It's a beautiful spring day!!The sky is that perfect shade of blue with some big fluffy clouds thrown in as well -  along with a gentle breeze. This is the day that the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it!!

Spring has finally arrived and we have been having unseasonably warm weather lately. Loving every minute of it! Of course I am sure cool weather will come back around one more time before it makes its final exit. Take time to enjoy the sunshine and see all the beauty God has made all around us!!

Just got back from a wonderful trip to Chicago with my husband and his marching band. They marched in the St. Patrick's Day parade. It was a jam packed weekend with sights to see and shows to attend. The Blue Man Group was terrific. The kids really got in to it. We also saw The Million Dollar Quartet. If you love the music Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash and Carl Perkins you have to see this show! It was a wonderful trip, but I am happy to be back home in my small town and quiet home. I did the "big city living" once upon a time, and I am glad I did. But, I much prefer the peacefulness of my life now.

I have officially started my new blog. I have a lot of plans for some home improvements, and gardening will be starting up soon. I want to share it here - Or anything else I find interesting that might be of interest to someone else. It's a rainy day in Georgia today.....
